The Littleton City Council is made up of seven elected council members, four elected by district and three at-large. Members elect their own President and President Pro Tem who serve as Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, respectively. As the city's governing body, the city council sets policy for the administration. The city council's major responsibilities are consideration of ordinances and resolutions; adopting the annual budget; appointing the city manager, city attorney, municipal judges and board and commission members; and representing the city on various boards and agencies such as the Denver Regional Council of Governments, E911 Authority, Metro Mayors Caucus, and the Transit Alliance.
