Information Services
The Information Services (IS)
department provides the city with the operational foundation for all technology
initiatives, and ensuring consistency, compatibility, and integration of major
system components while at the same time providing the resources and knowledge
to minimize redundancy and waste and maximize functional capabilities. The IS
Department provides various technology services including systems operations,
support, management, implementation, and integration that assist in meeting the
current and future organizational goals and objectives of the city. The
department’s goals are:
- Provide quality technical and telecommunications support
to customers in a timely, efficient, and consistent manner;
- Deploy technology to improve access to and availability of
information and services for customers;
- Coordinate the platforms and systems used by customers for
greater integration, efficiency, and effectiveness;
- Partner with customers when they are researching and
procuring technology as a means of automating business processes;
- Provide a variety of computer and telephone training
opportunities to customers;
- Enhance the knowledge and skill sets of the I.S.
Department's staff through a variety of technical training opportunities.
