The Museum’s Navajo-Churro sheep are an old and rare breed brought into the southwest by the Spanish in the 1500s. Join us on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and learn more about this wonderful breed as we shear our flock and demonstrate how the fleece is used. You’ll see demonstrations of skirting, washing, weaving, and spinning. LaZyB Acres Alpacas will be here with some of their Alpacas, Angora goats and rabbits. We’ll also have demonstrations of working sheep dogs out in the pasture. Enter your guess in the “Weighty Wool” contest and win a prize! It’s a fun day for the whole family.
