Mineral Ave Pedestrian Crossing diagram

The concrete pavement of Mineral Avenue from the Platte River to Platte Canyon Road was installed in the late 1980s and some panels are experiencing failures along the joints. This project will remove and replace the critically damaged panels to ensure a smooth ride for vehicles and further extend the life of the pavement.

The existing pedestrian crossing and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at the intersection of Polo Ridge Drive will be relocated approximately 450 feet to the west. This will utilize the existing median to provide a two-stage crossing of Mineral Avenue and increase the visibility of crossing pedestrians to vehicles.

The city estimates this project will take approximately three months to complete. During construction, Mineral Avenue will be reduced to one lane and left turns from side streets will be restricted. Nearby residents and businesses will receive additional notifications as the project gets closer.
