The total number of adult pets (dogs, cats, ducks or rabbits) in one household is limited to three.

Lost or stray animals

Call or visit the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley (HSSPV) AT 303-703-2938 during business hours to find out if a lost pet has made it to the facility. Or call the Littleton Police non-emergency number at 303-794-1551 to find out if the pet has been reported.

Leash law

Both the City of Littleton and South Suburban Parks and Recreation District require that, outside of designated off-leash parks, pets must be on a leash at all times. Both park rules and city ordinances specify that the leash cannot be more than six feet long.

Wildlife

Wildlife in suburban areas

As development occurs, wildlife habitat area decreases and individuals may have contact with various types of wildlife more often. In most cases, there is no need for alarm and the city does not need to be notified of these encounters. Generally, most wild animals are wary of humans and try to avoid them. If the animal is acting aggressively, call 9-1-1. If it appears to be sick or injured, call the police non-emergency number at 303-794-1551.

Coyotes

Coyotes can be found in almost any area of Littleton. While coyotes are typically afraid of human interaction, they can get aggressive on occasion.

Feeding Wildlife

The Colorado Division of Wildlife strongly discourages feeding wildlife of any kind. Residents of Littleton are prohibited from intentionally feeding or baiting coyotes or foxes.
